Death in the Cinema by Minji Kim March 22, 2012

Filed under: Letters — londonstudentblog @ 3:30 pm

We were watching a rather boring film at the cinema when someone screamed. People looked at her. She looked shocked. She didn’t move. Me and my agents, we felt something strange. One of my agents, Jack, approached the woman. Jack looked at her and a man who sat next to the woman. Jack sent me a signal. It was a criminal case.

The man who sat next to the woman was dead. He looked comfortable, but his neck and ears were bruised. I thought he died from suffocation. I told a manager of the theatre to close all the doors and called to an investigator of the local area. While I called the local investigator, my agents were investigating people who were in the theatre. It was a small theatre. So there were just 15 people in there, and when the local investigator came to the theatre, he looked surprised. Because the town was small, specially, such a terrible crime had never happened in that town during the 10 years he had worked there.

The investigator’s name was Michael. Michael knew all the people who were in the theatre. But, he didn’t know the woman. Michael asked her. ”Why didn’t you know that at first?” “Because it was dark, and I couldn’t see him.  Furthermore, how could I imagine he was dead?” she answered. “Hmm… anyway, we need you to investigate. So could you tell me your name, age, address, job and why did you visit here? You might be a visitor. Right? ”

“Oh… ye… yes. And my name is Margaret, I’m 30 years old, I live in Paddington station in London. I’m a teacher of high school. I…I just got lost my way during a trip, so I stayed here 3 days in the motel that is next to the corner.” she answered.

When Michael talked with Margaret, we sent the body to CSI. The body had many bruises. I think he might have fought with someone but the bruises were actually not serious. I mean, it was not like a man’s power. I was a little confused. At the moment, my phone rang. It was my office and they had found the criminal. They told me it’s a woman; her name is Margaret, 30 years old, living near Paddington station. I hung up the phone quickly and started to find Margaret, but she had disappeared.

I called all my agents. When we found her, she tried to commit suicide at top of the theatre. We approached her and arrested her. The CSI, they found her easily because she left her fingerprints on his neck. After investigating her, we found out why she had chosen this town. It was her hometown but she left the town when she was 12. So people who live in the town, they didn’t know about her. She just knew the town better than others.

The dead man, he was her boyfriend. The day before he died, they had a big fight and finally when he was sleeping, she killed him. It was silly. And now, she would be punished properly.

My Future Plan by Wang, Jingquan (‘Bank’) March 16, 2012

In fact I do not have any plans of my future  because I really prefer to believe in fate so every kind of plan for me is just a guess.

But actually I really want to be a fire fighter or a police officer.  For  that I will have to go to a police training or try to join the army with my cousin.

When I have finished university or the army I will have the ability to become a good police officer or a fire fighter.

If I fail , I will not give up on my life, I will open a private detective agency to become a detective because I am a student who is a visionary so I believe in  my brain.

I will marry if someone wants to marry me…

I believe in fate but that does not mean I do not have to pay attention. I will give it my all to achieve what I really want…

His footsteps were light and excited. Today was Peter’s first day back from his holiday. The journey was astonishing. He got a huge positive energy during his travels with his parents. However, it was a bit disappointing when he opened the door. The students were less than he expected although that often happened on Monday. While he was teaching first lesson two students came into the classroom. ‘Sorry were late’ they said. ‘That’s fine’ Peter smiled reluctantly. ‘It will be fine,’ he admonished himself. Soon he noticed a student eating a chocolate cake. He glared at her and the notice on the board alternately which said that no food was allowed in class. Nevertheless, she didn’t notice his gaze. In addition, two students also made him frustrated by texting. Suddenly, he couldn’t stand this situation. He started to ransack his pocket to find a cigarette. ‘Let’s have a break…’ he said feebly…
